The show is now over but I will leave this site up until I change it for next year :-) Read the report at www.ryus-reports.webhop.net

What is it?
The event itself won't be a show as such, more of a gathering where anyone can come and bring any machine they want to bring with them.
I will make sure there are plenty of tables for people to set things up on. I am aiming more for a party atmosphere similar to the Big
Bash events held in Peterborough.
The event is open to Amigans and non Amigans alike. MorphOS users are welcome as are A.R.O.S users and even people who don't know what
an Amiga is are welcome. It is just a social event where anyone can come, meet up with new and old friends, have a drink and a laugh and
at the same time have a chance to play around on (hopefully) a wide collection of computers and things.
It isn't a commercial event so there will be no one there selling hardware or software. Let's face it, in today's market there is no one
selling hardware or software so you cant expect any companies to show up at a small event like SCAG.
There will however be a raffle at the event. The raffle prizes are:
First Prize
Freespace by Hyperion (Donated by yours truely Darren "Ryu" Glenn)
Quake2 by Hyperion (Donated by AmigaKit)
and AmigaForever6 by Cloanto (Donated by Sven Harvey of Stellar Dreams)
Second Prize
A1200 PCMCIA Networking Kit (Donated by AmigaKit)
AmigaForever6 by Cloanto (Donated by Sven Harvey of Stellar Dreams)
Third Prize
Selection of old Amiga and CD32 games (Donated by Alan "The_leander" Fisher)
Raffle tickets will be sold on the day at £1 each and you can buy as many as you like.
Entrance will be £5 on the door; this is to cover the cost of the hire of the venue so I'm not left out of pocket. I am unemployed so holding
an event like this is a bit of a financial worry for me.
You can pre-book using PayPal and in doing so you will get your entrance ticket mailed to you a week in advance of the
event and you will also receive a free raffle ticket.

When and where?
Location is Scunthorpe (click here for a quick idea where Scunthorpe is)
The date of the event is April the 2nd and the times are:
Doors will open from 2PM for anyone bringing anything to setup and the official opening time will be 3PM.
Doors will close at 8PM, however I will start packing up from 7PM onwards.
I have secured a venue just to the West of Scunthorpe in a village called Keadby. It is just a stones throw from the motorway so it is
easily accessible by car. There is also a train station just 2 minutes walk from the venue for anyone coming by train. Also if anyone
is coming by train and end up at Scunthorpe station I can provide a free lift from the station to the venue and back again after the
event but I will need to be told prior to the day. If you need this service please see the contact section.

The venue itself is the "Althorpe and Keadby Working Men's Club" which is on the main road in Keadby (Station Road).
There is ample parking around the side of the venue which you can just about see on the photo of the outside.
Inside we have the first floor to ourselves. There is a private entrance to the rear of the building by the car park which takes you
up the flight of stairs to our space. We have our own bar which will be staffed and our own toilets all on the same floor.
There should be ample power outlets for any gear you wish to bring but unfortunately there will be no internet access.
Directions
- Come off of the M180 at Junction 3 for Scunthorpe M181.
- Follow the M181 to the roundabout, take the first exit (left turn) onto the A18 for Gunness and Warf.
- Follow the A18 along, it will bend to the left and then to the right and you will cross over the river.
- Once over the river you will see the train station on your left and the road will bend to the left and as it does so there's a junction so
be careful.
- At the junction you need to turn right onto Station Road.
- Follow Station road for a few hundred yards, you will pass 2 shops on your left and a school on your right. Then you will see a Church hall to the left
and directly opposite on the right hand side of the road is Keadby and Althorpe WMC. There is also a fish and chip shop next to the club.
- That's it, you've arrived. You can park up by driving down the right side of the building to the small parking area.
If you are coming by train then it is also quite straight forward. Scunthorpe is not far from Doncaster which is a major rail link, its only a short train ride
into Scunthorpe, and if you catch the correct train you can get off at Althorpe Station which you can see on the map. Again if you cant get off at Althorpe (not
all trains do) then I can arrange to have you picked up from Scunthorpe Station and taken to the show and back again, I just need to know before hand.
Please use The Trainline to find out train times etc.
Scunthorpe is also served by the National Express coach service and we can collect you from the bus
Station too if needed.

Bring your own
Please feel free to bring whatever you like in terms of Computer gear with you. Bring your PC, Amiga, Pegasos, Xbox, PS2, C64 whatever you like. This event isn't
restrictive in any way in that department.
Please be aware though that I cannot be held responsible for any damage caused to your equipment while it is at the event, that is up to you.
Please also bring your own power extensions etc. There will only be a limited supply of parts available for you to use.
Also if you are planning on bringing something to the event could you please contact me and let me know what your planning on bringing
and what you would need to be supplied for you if anything. With your permission I will list what you're bringing on this site so other people have an idea
what is going to be at the event.

After the event
We will start to pack up at around 7pm with the aim to be out of the venue by 8pm. After that anyone who is staying over in Scunthorpe is welcome to meet
up again in Scunthorpe for a meal and drinks. After all the event is meant to be a social affair so why not make the most of it and have good night out with
like minded people.
The venue I have chosed for the meal is situated right next to Scunthorpe central railway station and it is an American themed bar and grill called Smokey Joes.
I have labelled it on the map so you can get an idea of where it is in relation to the main event.
Directions:
- nstead of taking the 3rd exit back onto the motorway take the 2nd (Straight on).
- Youll pass tesco to your left and the football ground to your right, over a set of lights for a padestrian crossing and up to another roundabout.
- At this roundabout take the 3rd exit onto the A18 Kingsway.
- Youll pass a golf course to your right and just before you reach the bridge over the railway theres a turning to your left.
- Take the left turning onto Church Lane.
- Youll pass the Hospital to your left, keep going past all the little turnings until you come to a major cross roads and traffic lights.
- At this point you should be able to see Smokey Joes.
- Go straight accross the crossing onto Station road. Immediatly to your right is Smokey Joes.

go back home.
If you are planning on stopping over in Scunthorpe and would like to come for a meal then could you please contact me.

Places to stay
There are plenty of hotels, guest houses and Bed and breakfasts in Scunthorpe but bellow are just a small collection that I think would be suitable for anyone
attending the event.
www.thelarchwoodhotel.co.uk
This hotel is ideal, it is centrally located in Scunthorpe and only 2 minutes walk from Weatherspoons and most of the bars and restaurants in town. Good priced
too and secure (its virtually right next to the central Police Station.
www.thedownsguesthouse.co.uk
Again this Guest House is central located and only 2 minutes away from the centre of town and all the pubs, bars and restaurants.
www.4hotels.co.uk/uk/hotels/lindsey.html
This small hotel is a bit further away from the town centre than the above 2 but it is still within walking distance and slightly cheaper than the other 2 places.
www.infotel.co.uk/15143.htm
This hotel is for the wealthier among us. It is very close to the motorway and a short taxi ride away from the town centre.
Premier Travel Inn
This hotel is a bit further away on the edge of the north-eastern side of town. But ideal if you need to keep the missus happy :-)
There are plenty of other places too in Scunthorpe and im sure you can find other accommodation with a quick google.

Pre-Book
If you are sure your going to be able to attend and would like to pre-book to help me pay for the venue then please use the paypal link below to send the £5 entrance fee.
By pre-booking you will be automatically entered into the raffle for a prize of at least Freespace for your Amiga. Raffle tickets will be £1 each on the day.
Please include your postal address with your payment so I can post out your entrance ticket and raffle ticket.
The option to pre-book will be removed on Friday the 25th of March and all tickets will be sent out to those who have pre-order.
If you do pre-book and subsiquently cant make it for whatever reason I wont be able to refund you your ticket price since all money I get in pre-bookings will go straight

Pre-Booking is no longer available.
